Galip Emre
Galip Emre was born in 1974 in Antalya. Graduate from the Junior Ballet, ANTALYA Modern Dance Contemporary. Obtained dance certificates from the Brodway Dance Center programs and Milenium Dance Complex Certificate Programs in Germany. He is a dance instructor, teacher and choreographer in postmodern dance, contemporary dance, dance improvisation, contact improvisation jazz, modern Jazz, lyrical jazz dance urban dance (Hip Hop, Breakdance) and tap dance. Galip Emre worked with private dance teachers and focused himself on modern dance and street dances. Starting from 1995, he gave hip hop, jazz and modern dance classes to dance clubs and dance schools in many universities (Bilkent, Başkent, Hacettepe, ODTÜ) In 2000, he wrote a book called Functional Dance Education System for the concepts of motion which is far from aesthetic concerns in dance techniques. He wrote articles for many stage performing art magazines. He participated and organized many contests, festivals and workshops. He followed workshops, dance trainings and participate to the art panels in Germany, America and Russia. As of 2008 Galip Emre is coach and coordinator of the Turkish Dance Federation. As of 2008, he was part of the establishment, choreographer and coordinator of the Performing Arts Department of the Girne American University (GAU). In 2012 he established the Galip Emre Dance Company. He choreographs, performs and organizes activities and original shows with different dance platforms. He is still a dance teacher at the GAU Performing Arts Department.
