Tuğçe Tuna Turkey
Is an artist who has established communication with existence through body, movement and dance; In 1983 she started dancing at the ADOB (Ankara State Opera and Ballet) Children's Ballet. Since 1993, she is a part of national and international festivals, organizations and academies as a dancer and performance artist, choreographer, director, art director, movement and dance therapist. She is a professor of contemporary dance and performance arts, contemporary dance and contemporary dance techniques. Tuna which started her Academic Instructor Experience in 1996 at the Mimar Sinan Fine Arts University (MSGSÜ) Contemporary Dance Department Since 2000 she has been abroad as a dancer, instructor and teacher of stage performances f.e. in Salzburg (GFM.2002-2014), Vienna, Cologne, Berlin, Essen, Stuttgart, Stralsund, Paris, Angers, Lublin, Prague, Slovenia and Israel. In 2012, she received a scholarship from the German government for academic scholarship, DAAD scholarship. She also had the opportunity to do research on dance arts in Berlin and Cologne in Germany and gave trainings and produced works. Among the works of Tuğçe Tuna; 'Body Drops' presented at the 15th Istanbul Biennial 2018, 'Disappear' awarded by Germany's Arena Festival Jury Prize, 'Trace of the Trace' exhibited at the Pera Museum in 2018, 'Worst Work' awarded by TMMOB 'Body Shape', 'Tortu', 'Vertigo', 'Thinking Phobia', 'Cell', 'Eco', 'Salt and ... Ice' produced by Bayrampaşa Old Penal House, 'Wet Volume', 'Machine Body' .. Dance with Different Bodies' workshops and demonstrations carried out with people with different physical characteristics in 2000. In 1993, the artist turned to physical science and psychosomatic studies and began to study and apply the therapeutic effects of dance and movement, kinesthetic intelligence and awareness studies on national and international platforms, in different age and social class groups. With the support of the MSGSÜ BAP between 2014-2016 she made a research of the history of contemporary dance in Turkey, which was called: '1960 Contemporary Dance in Turkey'. She developed herself in the field of professional approaches of choreographers, instructors and dance artists, and made these preferences visible. Another research project, which is the continuation of the research is called '2000 to the Present Contemporary Dance and Performing Arts in Turkey' and is still ongoing. Tuğçe Tuna performed several Dance Talks (nine different sessions) 'Contemporary Dance History' with the guidance Bomontiada Alt in Istanbul between 2017-2018. Professor Tuna who carries out, “one Solo, Dance Inner Consciousness Breakthrough” 7 days, 7 hours per day, is still working as a trainer and director of the Contemporary Dance Department at the MSGSÜ İDK University in Istanbul.
